We are pleased to announce that the RADAR project (Renewable and safe Aromatic compounDs As Replacements for substances of concern) has officially joined the Network for Safety and Sustainability of Chemicals and materials (NSC) community.
This step strengthens the project's commitment to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and building a resilient European innovation ecosystem, fully aligned with the goals of the EU Resilience call (HORIZON-CL4-2023-RESILIENCE-01) under which RADAR is funded.
Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme (Grant Agreement ID: 101178148), RADAR aims to develop renewable, safe-by-design aromatic compounds as alternatives to fossil-based substances of concern.
Through an integrated approach combining biomass valorisation, machine learning, hazard assessment using New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), and life-cycle analysis, RADAR is working toward the creation of innovative and sustainable building blocks for safer materials.
The NSC (Network for the Safety and Sustainability of Chemicals and Materials) is a European platform that brings together research projects, policy makers, industry stakeholders, and experts in safety and sustainability.
By joining the NSC community and participating in its thematic Working Groups, RADAR will benefit from and contribute to coordinated efforts on topics such as:

RADAR’s participation in the NSC community directly supports the EU’s ambition for increased resilience in chemicals and materials innovation. This collaboration enables RADAR to:
RADAR partners will actively engage in NSC Working Group discussions, events, and joint initiatives. We will regularly share updates from the project through both NSC and our own communication channels.
The RADAR project, funded under the EU’s Horizon Europe Resilience call (HORIZON-CL4-2023-RESILIENCE-01), has joined the Network for Safety and Sustainability of Chemicals and materials (NSC). By becoming part of the NSC community, RADAR will collaborate with other EU projects to share knowledge, align research efforts, and contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable European chemicals ecosystem.
