Protecting human health is central to the work of the BfR. That includes replacing substances of concern with safer and more sustainable alternatives. For hazard assessment of those substances, we conduct innovative methods including cell and organoid culture as well as high-throughput, high-content screening. In the RADAR project, we further aim to combine those methods into human-centered testing and assessment strategies to promote the transition to non-animal risk assessment of chemicals.
