AB InBev is the world’s largest brewing company, offering a wide range of brands to customers across the globe. As a company, we recognize our responsibility to operate sustainably and have set ambitious goals to reduce our carbon footprint, including the impact from packaging materials.
Sustainable sourcing of packaging materials is a key pillar in our journey toward carbon neutrality. Currently, all coatings used in aluminum beverage cans are derived from fossil fuels. By developing alternative, renewable material sources, we can significantly reduce our environmental impact.
In this project, AB InBev’s role is to ensure that newly developed materials meet industry standards and are suitable for beverage can applications. Our expertise lies in material testing and validation after application to packaging, ensuring that any solution is both technically feasible and ready for market launch.
